Avant-Garde soundscapes envelop the listener in sonic waves of emotion. A synesthetic journey and soundtrack of our times crafted by multidisciplinary visual and sonic artist Mac Blackout. “Revelation on the Beach was inspired by a psychedelic experience during the isolation years of the pandemic. In July of 2021 my wife and I drove an hour or so out of the city to the largely deserted beach at Mount Baldy, a monumental sand dune near Beverly Shores, Indiana. Looking over the sea-like vastness of Lake Michigan, the Chicago skyline loomed ill in the distance, shrouded in a cloud of darkness as sun shattered on the water. The beach was empty and the beauty of nature was juxtaposed with this powerful image to the west and Mount Baldy’s iconic cooling tower to the east. We swam in the patterns of sand, uncovering dramatic sculptures created by nature and our minds while the overwhelming emotions of the day were painted before and within us.” Way way back in the early days I used to say a lot about ‘The Terminal Kaleidoscope’ , a concept comparing the fragile planet we live on to a drowning human being with life flashing before his or her eyes, the images constantly accelerating. It’s 2024, a little over 2 decades since the turn of this unbearably turbulent century and the concept appears to have become an unlikely soap opera where we are the cast. Let’s hang in there….. [Edward Ka-Spel] ‘So Lonely in Heaven’ is The Legendary Pink Dots’ second album since the World stopped for a Global Pandemic. The machine is everything we are. It sees everything, hears everything, knows everything and feeds, speeds, drinks us down, spits us out – we lost control of it at the instant of its conception. Let love be the answer! Rave like it’s 1991! A social world in balance with nature is possible! Digital Album [free download] |
