This Desolation

Peripheral Minimal is proud to announce the forthcoming 7” by Irish duo KuBO, who consist of: Aidan Casserly (also of synth act Empire State Human), and Brian O’Malley (also of Polydroid).

This will be the first vinyl release by the band, after the initial tape single I Dream Electric, on Manchester based label Vocoder Tapes.

KuBO pay homage to Cubo-Futurism, the early 20th Century Russian art movement which concerned itself with contemporary concepts of the future and the technological triumph of humanity over nature. KuBO’s futuristic synth stylings perfectly fit their nom de guerre.

For lazy comparisons think of 80s synth protagonists, O.M.D and Depeche Mode or even Associates, owing to Aidan’s beautifully soaring soulful vocals. But KuBO are more than that, they create wonderfully melancholic Minimal Synth, that’s highly emotive, able to fill dance floors and act as cerebral fodder simultaneously. A full length album will follow this release in the not too distant future. Plug in and tune out, you won’t be disappointed.

Includes unlimited streaming of This Desolation via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.

Transmission Barcelona

We are so happy to introduce: Transmission – Barcelona ‘Second Anniversary’, compilated and produced by Dj Sandman and Domestica Records. After the great success of volume one, edited on CD due to Transimission’s first anniversary, we decided that volume two should be presented in the format we love the most: vinyl.

Transmission is a monthly party dedicated to all the international New New Wave, Post Punk, Cold Wave, Dark Wave scene, celebrated at Antiobiotic Bar in Barcelona since December 2011. Sessions are accurately selected by Dj Sandman, where emerging and unknown bands are really important and also forgotten gems from the underrated 80s scene.

We are so happy to introduce: Transmission – Barcelona ‘Second Anniversary’, compilated and produced by Dj Sandman and Domestica Records. After the DJ Sandman started his career as dj in the middle 80s, he has performed in the most emblematic clubs in Barcelona and Madrid, and he has also taken part in some important parties happening in Germany, like in the Nachtwerk club (Karlsruhe) or the 17th edition of the Wave Gotik Treffen Festival (Leipzig).

Kline Coma Xero

Medical Records presents the debut full length release of Kline Coma Xero. A self-titled LP influenced largely by the sterile and isolated iconography of authors such as Philip K. Dick, William Gibson and JG Ballard (from whence the bands name is derived).

Formed in 2012, Kline Coma Xero is a group whose work embraces elements of early minimal synth wave with distinctively thoughtful lyrics and evocative melodies. Kline Coma Xero’s Tony Williams has had his roots planted in various projects in the past, spanning a realm of styles from experimental noise, tape loops and early industrial. Using a writing style that employs the use of hardware sequencers driving analog instruments rather than computers, Kline Coma Xero produces a uniquely oblique interpretation of past-meets-present in modern electronic music. Previously Kline Coma Xero debuted in 2013 with the track “Left Behind” which was included on the Circuit D’Actes 3 – La Forme Lente label compilation which is the opening track on this LP. The 2nd track “Rewind” is amazingly catchy and reminiscent of the best hybrid of analog synth pop overlaid with Front 242 style vocals. Other standout tracks are the 2nd side opener “Mannequins” with it’s razor sharp lead synths as well as the dark and brooding “Casualty Ward”. Kline Coma Xero will certainly appeal to fans of analog minimal synth, EBM, and the more melodic side of industrial as well as specific acts such as Fad Gadget, Suicide, John Foxx, or Martial Canterel.

Presented on high-quality 180gram heavyweight colored splatter on opaque white vinyl and features a bonus LP insert. Mastered by Martin Bowes at the Cage, UK. Limited Edition.

10 to the Power of 9

Legendary Pink Dots are back with a new great concept album.

This is first Volume of a complex story about conspiracy, magic, and spirituality. Minimal synths, guitars, syncopated rhythms that are making weird, psychedelic and transcendental noises which are of course accompanied by the distinctive voice of Ka-Spel. Lying on your sofa, pumping up the volume and just dream away on their ethereal sounds.

10 to the Power of 9 is a dark and exceptional trip into their warped and bizarre musical psyche. For sure one of the best Concept album of the Band.

Limited Marble Pink Vinyl (499 copies).
