Ash Code is an Italian Dark Wave band formed in 2014 in Napoli by the singer Alessandro Belluccio, the keyboardist Claudia Nottebella and the bass player Adriano Belluccio. Ash Code music covers a wide range of genres including post-punk, Synthpop and EBM. Geometric Vision take form in 2012 in Naples. Ago Giordano, after several electro-darkwave music experiments decided to create a real band with Gennaro Campanile on bass and Roberto Amato on guitar. Hapax is a post-punk and synth wave from Italy founded in 2014. Their music could be categorized as post-punk, cold wave and synth wave.
Peripheral Minimal is proud to present the new 12″ by the French electronic pioneer, Philippe Laurent, entitled, ‘Phoenix’. This will be Philippe’s second release on Peripheral Minimal after the infectious synthetic classic 12″, ‘Mithra’. Phoenix is a three track E.P. featuring two brand new tracks on the A-Side, ‘Phoenix’, and, ‘Agapao’. Meanwhile over on the B-Side, we have the 13-minute electronic opus and highly representative of his early work, ‘Exposition 4′, a never before released track from Philippe’s extensive archive, and recorded in 1982. The E.P. Is representative of Philippe’s latest forays into contemporary synth music, but still with a retro futurist edge and influenced partly by German pioneers Kraftwerk / late 70s Kosmische and au courant electro / synthwave acts, fitting into the current enthusiasm for early 80s synth pop and minimal wave.
EBM influenced hard and dark Techno project started by Thomas P. Heckmann in 1998 for the Force Inc Music Works label. Typical of Heckmann’s Wavescape era output, the Welt In Scherben style is based around the Sägezahn sound.
The Swiss Zürich-based act comes back with their third full-length recording. Not even one year after their latest Ursprung LP, Veil Of Light give us ten new songs that mark quite a change of direction. The black&white artwork of their previous releases is gone to give space to one bold, full-colour look. The guitar-driven shoegaze-oriented fuzzy sounds of past records make way for a new focus on the Electronic, Industrial Synth, EBM-Wave spectrum. Check out the opener Your Love with its throbbing synths and mechanical drumming, or the pressing minimal-wave of Soul In Ethanol; again, Sturm Und Drang’s pounding industrial dance and Body To The Ceiling’s doom electronics. A new wave of New Wave is here and Veil Of Light are showing the way. |
