Shad Shadows is a dark electronic duo from Ravenna, Italy. Its members Luca (voice, synth, drum machines) and Alessandra (synth, vocals) were brought together through a common love of obscure electronic music and began writing and recording dark and gloomy sound and image in the winter of 2014. Inspiration came to them by way of experimental electronic sounds, film soundtracks, industrial dance sound of 80′s and 90′s.
Dame Area ended 2021 and has started 2022 acclaimed in the european stages with a live show praised for its power and darkness, made up of many new tracks. Some of those have been gathered in this EP. Industrial music with a touch of EBM without ortodoxy nor cobwebs, with metallic percussions performing some atypical rhythms and Suicide’s minimalist spirit overflying the scene. Probably Dame Area’s most dance-floor oriented record till the date, “Esto me pertenece” is not simply “dance music” but combat music instead. In fact it doesn’t lose sight of the fact that what’s most important are not the fat kicks, the unrelenting synths or the percussion, but the attitude. And in spite of the patent darkness of the record there is a clear call to arms to claim what belongs to us: the present.
Albumette released by TONN Recordings, recorded by Iv/An during the period of self-isolation imposed by what is now known as the new normal after the global pandemic stopping the world in its tracks. Play loud when no-one is around. Stowaway dusted off.
Cymbaline is a new wave formation from the Netherlands. Their music draws heavily on the post-punk era of the late ‘70s-early ‘80s. By using vintage synthesizers and drum computers, which reminisce of the rawness and coldness of grey industrial cities, they try to capture the melancholy that is associated with this period. Yet, their music sounds refreshingly up to date. |
