Following the release of his third studio album Deeper earlier this year via Captured Tracks, Luis Vasquez a/k/a The Soft Moon has announced the release of Deeper Remixed Vol. 1 (co-released by Captured Tracks and the Berlin-based record label aufnahme + wiedergabe) and Deeper Remixed Vol. 2.

THIS IS THE BRIDGE graced 0.5’s catalogue back in 2013 with the debut s/t mini-album of chilling instrumental music. as a debut, it fared pretty well as the label’s most successful diy release that year. Originally appearing as “The Bridge” with this “This is the Bridge” as the debut album’s title, the extended name was later adopted for subsequent releases. And this is the bridge indeed – it’s a crosslink of intent. Idealism complementing retro-futurism today tomorrow. 0.5 is happy to present a collection of 10 pieces, some that previously appeared in TITB’s digital catalogue while others are completely new and exclusive, gathered together for this new physical release. A selection of up-tempo numbers reflecting a state between dream and nightmare, the thin line that encourages us to consider what tomorrow brings and perhaps change it.
Absolute Body Control was formed by Dirk Ivens in 1980 and joined by Eric Van Wonterghem just after releasing their first single “Is There An Exit?”. Achieving an underground cult following, the band took their influence from bands such as Suicide, D.A.F, and the UK electronic scene. After a few years, the band members all went their separate ways finding success in other influential acts such as The Klinik, Dive, Sonar, Monolith and Insekt. In 2007 Absolute Body Control re-formed and released “Wind[Re]Wind” on a very limited picture disc LP and later on CD including updated & re-recorded versions of their best tracks. Modern sound recording techniques blend seamlessly with the classic roots of low-fi electro. Now, almost a decade after the first pressing, “Wind[Re]Wind” is relunched including all the 13 tracks from the CD plus two new versions (“Waving Hands” and “The Man I Wanna Be”) and a live recording from WGT 2007 (previously available only on a limited CD). Limited to 520 copies with numbered certificate. Double transparent red vinyl in gatefold.
Wendy Bevan is a London based vocalist and artist currently working on her debut solo EP/Album produced by Marc Collin (Nouvelle Vague) to be released in 2016 on Kwaidan rec & K7! There will also be a digital edition single with remix by Usher San (Norma Loy/Black Egg) released on Unknown Pleasures Records in february with gorgeous cover of early eighties NORMA LOY’s hit “Romance”. |
