Martial Canterel - Navigations Volume I-III

Medical Records proudly presents Volume III of a collection of “Forgotten Tracks, Sketches and Unfinished Work 2002-2004” by Martial Canterel. This release coincides as a standalone with Medical’s other releases of Volume II as well as a special 3LP compiling Volumes I-III. This is the first time these tracks have been released on vinyl and have been remastered for this release by Martin Bowes at the Cage, UK. Contains special bonus insert with lyrics. Fans of early Martial Canterel as well as other cold wave icons such as A Blaze Color, Snowy Red, and the like will need this collection. Presented on high-quality 180gram classic vinyl.

The Analog Session - Featuring Alexander Robotnick & Ludus Pinsky

Medical Records presents the first in a series of 12″ singles on the Transfusions sublabel. In Feb 2009, icon Alexander Robotnick (Maurizio Dami) and Ludus Pinsky (Lapo Lombardi) gathered in a room completely engulfed with vintage analog and modular synthesizers (many DIY). What resulted is an absolute brilliant session of pure unadulterated warm techno. Robotnick and Pinsky have deep musical backgrounds in dance music ranging from Italo disco, house, electro-disco, and much more. The project eventually became an album and a live performance.

Featured here are the unique original soundtracks from the videos of these tracks which combined have amassed almost 500,000 views along with a remix of each track featured on this special 12”. The original soundtracks to the popular vidoes have never been released on vinyl. Contains over 30 minutes of pure techno perfection with a look towards the future yet performed on the tools from the past. Mastered by Martin Bowes at the Cage Studios, UK.

Cloudland Canyon - An Arabesque

Cloudland Canyon’s third LP, An Arabesque, was spearheaded by founding member Kip Uhlhorn but fleshed out with contributions from Memphis rock royalty such as Ross Johnson (Panther Burns, Alex Chilton), Lesa Alridge (Big Star) and Jody Stephens (Big Star), alongside collaborative accents by Ezra Buchla, M. Geddes Gengras, Kliph Scurlock (ex-Flaming Lips), David Scott Stone (ex-LCD Soundsystem), and Pete Kember aka Sonic Boom (Spacemen 3, Spectrum), who also co-produced the album.

While past recordings on Holy Mountain and Kranky flirted with drone and krautrock modes, An Arabesque skews in a more rhythmic direction, with shades of naive disco and new age. This particular set of songs benefits from having been heavily road-tested over the last two years, resulting in greater distillation and focus.

Geneva Jacuzzi - Technophelia

Medical Records releases the first full length LP in 5 years by LA’s Geneva Jacuzzi. To say Jacuzzi is a multifaceted artist would be an understatement. She is well known for her uncompromisingly obtuse synth-driven pop and one-of-a-kind performance art that is comprised of one time only spectacles and installations.

Her works have been presented in famous art institutions such as the Museum of Contemporary Art, MOCA and numerous other venues across the globe. She has developed a very focused cult following in the art AND music scenes. She was originally well known for her multitude of self-released home recordings but also released a full length Lamaze in 2010 on the Vinyl International to much acclaim. Not to mention her track The Sleep Room featured on The Minimal Wave Tapes Vol 2.

Technophelia is the culmination of a hybrid of DIY and professional studio recordings (with the help of esteemed producer Chris Coady) that resulted in this exquisite album. Features the soon-to-be-hits I’m A TV and Cannibal Babies. Lovers of unique and left-field wave such as Gina X, Ronny, and the like will be transfixed by the raw, oozing newness of it all.

Limited edition of 180 heavyweight white vinyl.

((PRESSURES)) & Roladex - Split

Medical Records in close collaboration with Disko Obscura Records presents a special split 7” showcasing 1 new track each by ((PRESSURES)) and Roladex.

((PRESSURES)) hails from New Orleans, LA. They craft their unique futuristic icy tracks on a museum’s worth of analog synths and drum machines. This release follows their first LP on Disko Obscura entitled “Casting Shadows”. Their contribution “The Voices” is a propulsive and dripping with synth textures track featuring vocoded vocals.

Roladex (a veteran of Medical Records already with their “Anthems For the Micro-Age” LP) hails from Seattle by way of Texas. Blending girl/boy vocals with catchy pop hooks drenched in a seductive melancholy, Roladex also uses a plethora of vintage gear. “Glass Statuette” is their new track for this 7” and features their signature sound with a bit of an evolution into Moroder-esque cascading arpeggios. Fans of both artists will surely want this in their collection. Features original artwork for the “double A side” on foldover insert style by both artwork that nicely complements the music contained therein. Pressed on high quality transparent yellow vinyl. Mastered by Martin Bowes at the Cage, UK.

Limited edition of 500 thick transparent yellow 7″ record.
