Cloudland Canyon - An Arabesque

Cloudland Canyon’s third LP, An Arabesque, was spearheaded by founding member Kip Uhlhorn but fleshed out with contributions from Memphis rock royalty such as Ross Johnson (Panther Burns, Alex Chilton), Lesa Alridge (Big Star) and Jody Stephens (Big Star), alongside collaborative accents by Ezra Buchla, M. Geddes Gengras, Kliph Scurlock (ex-Flaming Lips), David Scott Stone (ex-LCD Soundsystem), and Pete Kember aka Sonic Boom (Spacemen 3, Spectrum), who also co-produced the album.

While past recordings on Holy Mountain and Kranky flirted with drone and krautrock modes, An Arabesque skews in a more rhythmic direction, with shades of naive disco and new age. This particular set of songs benefits from having been heavily road-tested over the last two years, resulting in greater distillation and focus.

Cold Colors & Xiu - Loneliness

Cold Colors was born in a small town by the ocean, near Bordeaux, France, in the mid 70s. His passion for music, particularly New Wave and melancholic atmospheres, started early and strongly influenced his own creations years later. The first records he ever bought were The Cure, Depeche Mode and Soft Cell. In the 90s, Frederick bought his first guitar and composed songs under the name Agent Orange. In 2002, the Cold Colors project was born. Fred loves working with analog synths & machines. His music mixes warmth and melancholia, an obvious homage to Coldwave and New Wave, by blending today’s electronic music with the melodic sounds of yesterday.

Xiu’s music is a synthesis between retro-pop and futurist synth waves. It delivers spacy looped electronica, groovy rhythms, linear lo-fi synth washes, softly dreamy pop melodies sometimes admitting dramatic tones and mysterious textural ambiences. The conceptual background deals with thematics related to dystopia, occult arts and mystic believes.

Hand numbered limited edition of 300 copies on 180 gr. high quality lacquered pressed solid black vinyl.

Ash Code - Posthuman

Ash Code is the moniker for the meeting of Alessandro’s sensivity and Claudia’s taste. Their music describes a collage of darkwave, noise and electronic music with a solid drum machine. Dark ballads and obsessive beats, deep and melancholic synths, noise and distortions, arpeggiators and delays. Lights and shades. Dances of Death. Visions and theatricality. Coded ash.

Edition of 1000 CD.

IXVLF - Language Of

Fresh addition to the growing label family, Bethlehem’s Connor Clasen alias IXVLF debuts on the label with Language Of providing the second installment of the year in our tape series. Flowing between colorful invocations of primitive house and unsettling minimal exploration, Clasen developed a peculiar approach in his music-making by triggering industrial meditations through his insatiable fascination with electronic experiments and performance; ranging from physical manipulation of machines to capturing the nervous movement of acid, noise and the feeling of metal reverberation. It resulted in this mini-album consisting in six cuts of buzzing kicks and distorted vocals — borrowing as much industrial folklore as well as more traditional electronic body music — showing the ability of the American producer to reinterpret past and current trends in an unusual way.

White Horse - The Revenant Gospels

WHITE HORSE is the somber vision of musician Ben Chisholm, who is also a full time member of Chelsea Wolfe. Recording under the name “White Horse” since 2010, he has released a number of highly praised experimental solo recordings including “Final Coordinates” and “The Revenant Gospels I, II, and III”. Sighting other artists working under the moniker, White Horse, the name was put out to pasture in 2012 and turned into REVELATOR. With this fresh start, Revelator has recently released a split 7″ with Jacob Bannon’s latest project, Wear Your Wounds, and is currently recording new material for the near future.

‘All vocals performed by those whom are no longer with us.’

Somewhere between life and death, in an in-between might be poetically described as David Lynch – simulating a human face surreal awakening to that, his eyes still misty and feet walking on ground that it still does not recognize as completely his own, do not really know where he is – the music of Angelinos is a mix between a brutal reality, prosaically lo-fi and moods esoteric-hypnotics fascinating. Haunted by a vote of songs from old dusty records of the early last century and we believe directly unloaded from the abyss of oblivion, here accompanied by a piano from beyond the grave, then by the strings straight out of horror films, the 14 stocks that make up the two first volumes could also be well suited to atmosphere as a wake Mormon accompany a ghostly choir singing under the rubble of his Baptist church once burned by the KKK.

Volume III takes us on a journey through other generations and points on the map. The concept of using field recordings has here been pushed away for the use of more contemporary voices. The overall concept and style is the same though, as if these other people from the past learned what could be achieved through the pioneers on volume I and II.

Suffocating and mysterious, the music of White Horse still manages to remain melodic and pure, thus magnifying the wonderfully chaotic and sublimating his excessive taste for heavy atmospheres and tormented by a thin but continuous strand of seraphic light.

Limited 3 EP boxset edition of 250 copies.
