The interstellar cosmonauts of Staatseinde create a theatrical mix of pulsing electro with nostalgic hopeful synthlines, all performed live with synthesizers, a sequencer and tantalizing vocals. From Wave to EBM, from NDW to Punk and everything else in and out of the box. It is like walking into a club meeting Kraftwerk on speed and The Sex Pistols on acid.

Their new release “De Nieuwe Golf” is characterized by dystopian prospects and hopeful sounds, confirming Staatseinde’s name as the founder of the “Neue Niederländische Welle”, in other words the New Dutch Wave.

The uplifting italo rifs in opening track “Grauw” take you on a journey through a gray world in which color cannot be taken for granted. Minimal wave track “Einzelganger” makes you feel like an outsider who can’t keep up with society. “Geef Me De Tijd” sounds like a schizophrenic dreamer swinging casually, but ending as a hard hitting track. Dystopian doom and pessimism is captured in EBM/techno floor filler “Doembeelden”. The raw West Coast Sound of Holland infused “La Haya” is a tribute to the city of The Hague which calls out on everybody to get wasted. The epic ode to space travel “Ruimtevaart Vooruit (2022 Refix)” is back in a rendition inspired by Rude66’s 2010 remix version. “Isla Inutile” is a dark and tropical delirium. In the hopeful “Alles is Weg”, Staatseinde takes you from the downfall on the way to…?

Staatseinde’s “De Nieuwe Golf” holds up a mirror to humanity…progress has not helped us any further. There is hope…but will this new wave be on time? Or is it already too late?

Medical Records is honored to release the first full LP by Dutch cosmic explorers Staatseinde. Formed in 2006, Staatseinde have released a multitude of cassettes, singles as well as a CDR album in 2012. “Fehlerlinie” represents the culmination of a very productive couple of years including stellar performances at the streaming IFM Fest, the release of compelling collaboration tapes and other releases. Though impossible to confine to a single genre or style, their music can be described as a captivating fusion of electro-pop, electro-clash and robotic punk/wave. Each and every track carefully chosen for this LP is a dancefloor ripper. Plug in enjoy the journey.

Medical brings you a great release a long time in the making. Dallas analog synthesist Jake Schrock has been very active in the Texas music scene for many years with prior releases for S U R V I V E’s Holodeck label as well as performing in //TENSE//. With a literal arsenal of vintage equipment, Jake forges a wonderful, almost 80s soundtrack vibe with deep emotive washes and playful and gentle classic drum machine patterns and beats. Seven unreleased tracks meticulously chosen from the Schrock archive crossing and blending multiple genres (wave, kosmiche, new age).

Lab Personnel is a very intriguing collaboration between a number of producers hailing from Croatia. Members include Zarkoff (member of Sumerian Fleet), Neon Lies, ikonal many more (total eight members).

The tracks were recorded during Synth Lab 4 improvisational sessions in Pisak in 2017. The album is a dense and stormy affair overall with mesmerizing and dark synths. The styles presented drift between genres including acid techno, electro, EBM, and other hybrids. All instrumental, the LP is a brooding journey into diverse techno soundscapes with eight strong tracks that will not disappoint.

Celldöd is Swedish producer Anders Karlsson. Anders has been active in the music scene for some time working on different musical projects, always with a strong DIY ethic His Celldöd project has released several cassettes under his own label Brutal Disciplin and has also released records on Suction Records, Kess Kill and Femur Records. In 2017 Anders released an album under the name Vargdöd on Opal Tapes together with Swedish techno artist Varg.

Anders hardware driven sound has evolved over time now personifying finely sharpened EBM and techno crossover of the highest calibre. With a nod to the greats but with a forward thinking direction, we have four new cuts to destroy the darkest dance floors. Relentless, bass-heavy and blown-out bangers. Fans of DAF and maybe 242 meets Silent Servant will be blown away.

Third full length album by Circa Tapes (solo project of Adam Killing of Kill Memory Crash). Following excellent previous releases on Romance Moderne and DKA, this third album displays the evolution of Killing’s spot on ability to masterfully blend dark early 80s synth, industrial and cold wave into a completely new entity. Much heavier and wonderfully darker, this LP will appeal to fans of classics like Cabaret Voltaire and Skinny Puppy, as well as cutting edge EBM contemporaries such as Broken English Club, Boy Harsher and other cold wave / industrial hybrids.

Medical Records proudly presents Volume III of a collection of “Forgotten Tracks, Sketches and Unfinished Work 2002-2004” by Martial Canterel. This release coincides as a standalone with Medical’s other releases of Volume II as well as a special 3LP compiling Volumes I-III. Sean McBride has been producing work under the Martial Canterel moniker dating back to 2002 as well as working as half of Xeno And Oaklander. These tracks capture the allure and depth of Sean’s early work exploring rhythms and perfectly crafted pop songs using a very early incarnation of limited instrumentation.

Fans of Martial Canterel’s early work (think “Austerton” and “Sister Age”) will be instantly elated. This is the first time these tracks have been released on vinyl and have been remastered for this release by Martin Bowes at the Cage, UK. Contains special bonus insert with lyrics. Fans of early Martial Canterel as well as other cold wave icons such as A Blaze Color, Snowy Red, and the like will need this collection. Presented on high-quality 180gram classic vinyl.

Medical Records presents the first in a series of 12″ singles on the Transfusions sublabel. In Feb 2009, icon Alexander Robotnick (Maurizio Dami) and Ludus Pinsky (Lapo Lombardi) gathered in a room completely engulfed with vintage analog and modular synthesizers (many DIY). What resulted is an absolute brilliant session of pure unadulterated warm techno. Robotnick and Pinsky have deep musical backgrounds in dance music ranging from Italo disco, house, electro-disco, and much more. The project eventually became an album and a live performance.

Featured here are the unique original soundtracks from the videos of these tracks which combined have amassed almost 500,000 views along with a remix of each track featured on this special 12”. The original soundtracks to the popular vidoes have never been released on vinyl. Contains over 30 minutes of pure techno perfection with a look towards the future yet performed on the tools from the past. Mastered by Martin Bowes at the Cage Studios, UK.

Cloudland Canyon’s third LP, An Arabesque, was spearheaded by founding member Kip Uhlhorn but fleshed out with contributions from Memphis rock royalty such as Ross Johnson (Panther Burns, Alex Chilton), Lesa Alridge (Big Star) and Jody Stephens (Big Star), alongside collaborative accents by Ezra Buchla, M. Geddes Gengras, Kliph Scurlock (ex-Flaming Lips), David Scott Stone (ex-LCD Soundsystem), and Pete Kember aka Sonic Boom (Spacemen 3, Spectrum), who also co-produced the album.

While past recordings on Holy Mountain and Kranky flirted with drone and krautrock modes, An Arabesque skews in a more rhythmic direction, with shades of naive disco and new age. This particular set of songs benefits from having been heavily road-tested over the last two years, resulting in greater distillation and focus.
