Since the beginning of Freedom Club it was imagined to add vinyls to the output. The “Refusal EP” is the first of these vinyls. It features tracks by all six artists who are responsible for the first six EP’s already released.

This EP is very much what Freedom Club is about: uncompromised dark beats and rough electronic sounds. Not defined to one specific style or genre but coherent in mood and esthetics: vague, raw, unpolished and dark.

Auva Duhr, Monocorpse, The Wheel Of Rituals, The Untitled, Nihilist Sounds and ЯTRA all go for a full on attack mode. Some stay 100% true to their trademark sound while others explore and incorporate new dimensions and even push the limits of what you could expect from them. There is a lot of acid in the mix here and lots of industrial sounds are poured over you. When speeding up there is no surrender to the beat while when slowing down it only gets darker and colder.

The “Refusal EP” must be considered a manifesto of Freedom Club.

This two sided split record between Roberto Auser and Melting Dogmas is a showcase of two sides of contemporary elektro… on one side there is the music of electro veteran Roberto Auser… his modular synth sounds are minimal electronics and 80’s inspired… but these two tracks are a bit different then the beat driven music he released mostly these past few years… despite his recognizable sound these two tracks deliver something new to his repertoire… less beat driven but still very much rhythmic… some industrial and pulsating sounds keep these tracks going and even suitable for the dancefloor late at night or early in the morning… I wish for more of this from Herr Auser!

Melting Dogmas is 4Cantons together with Numèric… if you are familiar with the debut EP by 4Cantons then you will recognize his dark elektro sound… but these two debut tracks of Melting Dogmas are a bit more complex… without losing their club minded attitude… the sounds of Melting Dogmas is idm driven with elektro and techno elements all there in a perfect mix and maybe even making these tracks punchier as the music by 4Cantons… and at the same time also a bit more daring… the structure is less straight forward with a good balance between building up the tension and full out beat parts… just like 4Cantons I cannot recommend enough to keep an eye out for Melting Dogmas… it is very hopeful to have musicians like this around with such good and daring sounds…

It took quite some time to realize this album by RADKO… back in 2018 their debut single was released and then there was silence […] what they came up with is an adventures contemporary/post-wave sound with lots of complexity in it is sounds and structures… but still these pieces are songs […] More or less gone (or just more hidden?) are the cold wave and shoegaze elements… these have been replaced with electro, techno and industrial influences… and instead of dreamy and melancholy the sound is now much more haunting and dark […] an album with daring electronic beats and sounds… very clearly rooted in the new wave / post-punk / industrial tradition but mostly a contemporary electronic music exercise which could (should?) appeal to everybody with an open mind and interested in dark beats.

“Principi d’incertesa“ is the debut by 4Cantons, a Berlin based musician from Barcelona. This EP is basically filled with dark elektro tracks… but it is not strictly elektro you get served here… these tracks are spiced up with touches of techno, EBM and acid… making them punchy and perfect for some body work on the dance floor… this without getting aggressive or anything as all tracks maintain some sort of relaxed hypnotic vibe…

You could look at this EP as a contemporary and more club minded take on early 2000’s elektro… recommended to (dark) elektro lovers but these sounds will also for sure appeal to fans of techno, EBM and acid alike… Keep an eye/ear out on this artist as this first effort is very promising…

Futuro de Hierro, hailing from Barcelona, is the project by one of the Màgia Roja label/club/community collaborators… mostly known for this work with Dame Area but his solo project Futuro de Hierro is equally (or more?) interesting… the loud repetitive broken beats, noises and powerful delivered Spanish vocals make up for a punk influenced industrial techno sound which borders rhythmic noise at times… like something in between Liaisons Dangereuses, Esplendor Geométrico and Sonar…

This is an uncompromising EP filled with harsh tracks that still work for the dance floor… especially for those fed up with hearing the same beat over and over and over again…

About a year ago Leroy Se Meurt delivered a simply hard-hitting and smashing debut EP… which quickly sold out at the ET HQ… the mixed background of this duo from Paris in electronic music and in punk-rock shapes the distinctive sound of Leroy Se Meurt… you can call it synth-punk or elektropunk… or simply post-punk for that matter… Not only their debut EP did have impact… possibly even more did their live shows… their live performance is wild and in your face…

Now there is the follow up to that acclaimed debut EP… this time Leroy Se Meurt takes a little step back from the totally in your face attitude… the sound is a bit darker and aims less on a direct confrontation but works to crawl under your skin… the energy and tension is still there but is building up gradually… and has a bigger impact that way… Don’t miss out on this next step in the campaign of Leroy Se Meurt!

Neugeborene Nachtmusik returns to ET with his second full-length album… after his debut and several compilation tracks the sound of this Berlin based project from Holland is much more defined as before… his debut album showed a wide range of inspiration but still with a coherent mood… this new album is also much more coherent in style… You get served six long tracks of post-industrial mixed with post-techno… all trance indulging… all hypnotic… and all based on dark beats… you can call this cosmic industrial or ritual techno but one way or another these tunes are made to defy the dance floor as for sure you can move to them… but are they dance tunes after all?

After the acclaimed “Rather Not” mini album from 2016 TWINS (That Which Is Not Said) returns to Enfant Terrible… this time with a two track 7” vinyl… on the A-side you will find a synthpop / minimal elektro / cold wave tune with a metal beat reminiscent of John Foxx… the B-side features a harsh elektro piece… it is tense and uptight… almost techno even… this one could also have been fitting for a Gooiland Elektro release… and could (should?) be a future dj favorite…

Here is the debut release by Italian duo R A D K O… their music is a blending of post/cold wave and shoegaze elements… both the songs and the production have a typical nostalgic feeling but are rather modern at the same time… instead of being overtly dark the sound and overall mood is much more melancholy and dreamy… for sure these two tracks make up for an impressive debut and addictive little 7″ record…

LCN was present on the “Noblesse Oblige” compilation (Gooiland 23) with a sweaty EBM influenced track… on this 4 track EP you can expect dark and cold elektro sounds… it is reminiscent of Invasion Planete and Kommando 6 output but with a cleaner and more modern sound… still if you like(d) these early 2000’s elektro sounds you will love this too… this EP follows up on the steady stream of releases LCN has been putting out lately… among them on labels as Frigio Records and Return To Disorder… but this is probably his most dark and freaked out release up till now…
