Oppenheimer MKII - Another Nightmare

Oppenheimer Mk II is Andy Oppenheimer and Mahk Rumbae. Andy Oppenheimer – Singer, songwriter and formerly one-half of 1980s synth-pop duo Oppenheimer Analysis, one of the leading bands of the ‘minimal synth’ scene, and inspiration behind the Minimal Wave label.

Mahk Rumbae – Electronic musician and producer known for his work with long-running UK industrial/experimental band Konstruktivists. Andy and Mahk joined forces after performing together at Vienna’s legendary electronic music venue Rhiz in April 2012, and discovering a shared love for for 1960s pop and 1980s synth music.

After their debut album ‘The Presence of the Abnormal’, released in 2013, and the Line of Sight EP released in 2015, the band return with a new single ‘Another Nightmare’ on Peripheral Minimal. The two songs ‘Another Nightmare’ and ‘The Presence of the Abnormal’ were originally featured on their debut album, and now this new single gives these complete new versions of these two songs a new lease of life as well as being available on vinyl for the first time.

Mad Masks - Self titled

Peripheral Minimal is proud to present the début physical album by mysterious French act ‘Mad Masks’

‘Mad Masks’ originate from the French Alps, and consist of members ‘Zio Voodoo’ and ‘Dominique Stela’. The band started in 2013 to record music inspired by dark soundtracks.

Their sound is a mélange of slowly moving atmospheric heavily processed guitar and looping continuous drum-machine, with darkly Gothic overtones. Think of early recordings on cult UK label 4AD, combined with chilling post-punk dirges, and you’d be halfway there. ‘Mad Masks’, are a genre onto themselves perhaps, as direct categorisation would be near impossible. The accompanying videos to their tracks are from obscure or forgotten Horror films from the 1960s / 70s, occultism, religious fanaticism and fantastical mythical creatures feature heavily, betraying their influences. The album is sure to find itself becoming a cult classic and a must-have for anyone into unsettling and uneasy music.

The album is limited to 200 copies housed in a jewel-case and comes with two badges.

Spatial Relation - Beyond The Zero

Peripheral Minimal is proud to present Beyond the Zero, the highly anticipated debut album by Brooklyn-based duo Spatial Relation.

Through word of mouth, the band has built up an international fan base in the past few years. Interest has come largely from appearances on seminal European compilations such as the TSM series produced by The Scrap Mag (Spain) and Until the Sun Grows Cold from Vocoder Tapes (England). Spatial Relation’s cassette EP Thoughtcrime also was released last year by Infravox Records (Peru), and this was preceded by a split seven-inch single with the artist Xiu on Peripheral Minimal in 2013.

The eight songs that make up Beyond the Zero were produced, recorded, and mixed in the band’s home studio from 2012 to 2014. In addition to new titles such as the stand-out singles “Tacit Knowledge” and “Phantoms of the Future,” the album includes the cult hit “Contour Lines,” which helped launch Spatial Relation to public attention, and closes with the minimalist favorite “Mysteries of Chance.” All tracks have been mastered with care by the famed Dutch producer and engineer Alden Tyrell.

Limited vinyl edition of 300.
