Ruthless People

Joining our unforeseeable contingent is none other than Detroit native Stallone the Reducer hailing from New York City. Member of the ADULT. outfit during the mid-2000s while operating in the suburbs of the American underground for more than a decade under different guises. Samuel Consiglio has made a name for himself over the years thanks to his anarchic whimsical electronic oddities. At times humorous, however always crucial, Ruthless People does not escape the rule and makes up for a facetious impulsive mini-album unfolding in bursts of zealous hysteresis. Straight out of a movie that never existed, now and again flirting with the grotesque like his last couple of releases on Est. ’83 Records, Consiglio keeps on crafting wacky mechanical grooves and anomalous synth lines as if scrambling at full speed on the American highway; skipping through the radio looking for incongruous bits of dialogues only true mutants can understand.

Me and a Box – Horizon Perdu

Me and a Box, a voice that conveys the intimacy of introspection, juxtaposed against a backdrop of infectious metronomic rhythms. Me and a Box’s sound blurs the boundaries between hot and cold, between the minimal and the intense. The utterly unique sound of Me and a Box, the true voice of Frenchwave that sits right at the heart of TONN.

Reka X Imperial Black Unit – Todo Avaricia

‘Todo Avaricia’ by Reka and the duo Imperial Black Unit is the result of an immediate and natural connection forged between the three artists, through a jam session that swiftly and intuitively yielded three tracks of stylistically diverse yet demonstrably cohesive sounds. Featuring the sampled voices of Che Cuevara, Pablo Neruda and original vocals by Reka herself, the EP plays the role of an urgent call to action against political and environmental injustice, conveyed via the musical substrate of new beat, industrial and EBM, fused into a landscape of techno and undeniably constructed for the dancefloor. The EP is rounded off with a heavy-hitting remix of the title track by the prolific Umwelt, in his signature dramatic style.

Larme Blanche ‎– Demain Est Mort

This is the first time in 6 years of Unknown Pleasures Records that I have signed an artist whose I don’t know true face and real identity. Following an exchange of daring and funny mails I wanted to know more, I did make adjustments on some tracks and the final mastering convinced me to publish this sonic UFO because I like the voice, the casual attitude looks like nothing, and I love his lucid and disillusioned lyrics, poetic and irreverent. I think we’ll all be very surprised the day we finally know the true identity of this guy. For now only his music is enough to make the time and space vibrate while waiting for the end of the world.

Clear Memory 003

With it’s third issue, Clear Memory is about to bring future good memories. Kicking off are tracks by Mr. Beef – who is a founding member of the crew and puts out a nasty anthem – and Hayter who is celebrating his solo debut reflecting his gastronomical preferences. We are yet again forcing our members to interact vigorously in order to form new groups such as Yarn Init & Stranded Wires who share not only the side of a record but also their sound aesthetics: sharp machine funk. A record to listen to as a whole. A walk in the park – a step in the dark. Don’t trip!
